Tuesday, May 10, 2005
New York, NY –
REPORTER: A shipment of high quality counterfeit badges from Taiwan led Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents to the home of a Bronx man. There they found more than a thousand fake badges - for law enforcement agencies ranging from the Chattanooga Police Department to the FBI.
REPORTER: They also found NYPD badges and uniforms, an array of guns, marijuana and cocaine. Special Agent Martin Ficke says the man used a website to sell them and agents have names and addresses of some New York buyers.
FICKE: We got a full court press going on in last 24 hours ... to find out as much as we can about individ... who he's selling them to ... and ultimately to question those people now.
REPORTER: Special Agent Ficke says Sergio Korosh already has 10 arrests, one for impersonating a law enforcement official. He's currently in federal custody. His attorney says he's a legitimate collector.
