A report by a Columbia University committee says there is no evidence that professors at Columbia made anti-Semitic statements to intimidate Jewish students in classes.

But the report did identify one instance where a professor "exceeded commonly accepted bounds" of behavior when he angrily implied a student should leave his classroom after she defended Israel's conduct toward Palestinians.

The professor has denied the allegations. The report discounted all other incidents of intimidation as within the bounds of acceptable academic debate.

The university's president, Lee Bollinger, ordered the investigation after a group of students made a video alleging that Middle Eastern studies professors had harassed them.
