New York, NY –
In New York, the rejection of state financing for the West Side Stadium is a weighty political blow to Mayor Bloomberg.
REPORTER: As it became clear that the project would not move forward yesterday, the mayor criticized state lawmakers who have stood in the way of the project for months.
BLOOMBERG: Those on the other side will have to explain why they were against jobs. Why they were against economic opportunity and growth. Why they are against us having a shot at the 2012 Olympics. And why elected officials representing the city were deliberately marginalized.
REPORTER: WNYC's Bob Hennelly was with Mayor Bloomberg after the news broke and he joins us now.
