African American Art at the Met

New York, NY –
For the first time in many years, the Metropolitan Museum of Art has mounted an exhibit of African American Art. The show spans the years from 1929 to 1945, and includes prints, drawings and paintings -- some by artists whose names are unknown to mainstream audiences. The works offer illuminating insights into Black life during that time period.
