New York Public Radio Gala Cancelled
Sunday, October 28, 2012
A Message from Laura Walker
Dear Friends,
Because of the arrival of Hurricane Sandy and the closing of the MTA, we have decided to cancel our New York Public Radio Gala, which was scheduled to take place tomorrow night, Monday October 29. We want to make sure that everyone is safe. We are working with 583 Park to donate the food to evacuation centers in the city and to those in need during this storm.
Needless to say, we are disappointed not to celebrate the achievements of New York Public Radio with you and to honor the wonderful Lulu Wang. We do still plan to celebrate Lulu and will be in touch with you about our plans to do that.
On behalf of our Gala Co-Chairs, Judith-Ann Corrente and Susan Solomon, and all of us here at New York Public Radio, I thank you so much for your support. Stay safe, and tune in to WNYC 93.9 FM and 820AM or WQXR 105.9 for continuing coverage of the storm.
Sincerely,
Laura
