DNA Repair Mechanisms: Created for general audiences to explain a few of the mechanisms used by the cell to repair DNA damaged by UV light (shown as a photon rupturing a DNA strand in the top center of the image). Helical DNA is displayed with atomistic detail in the background and simplified to a diagrammatic ladder-like structure in the inset panels to simplify the story.
