Delegates at the New York State Republican Convention rebuffed Suffolk County Executive Steve Levy in his bid to get on the September Republican primary ballot to challenge former Congressman Rick Lazio.
In a prior ballot, Lazio won almost 60 percent of the delegates' support for governor, which was enough to easily win the GOP's designation. Buffalo businessman and Tea Party activist Carl Paladino came in a distant third in today's ballot, but is still expected to get the 15,000 signatures neccessary to force a primary challenge in September.
