Fans Get Another Week to Watch John Lennon-Yoko Ono Film
Monday, August 15, 2011
Fans of Yoko Ono and John Lennon have another week to watch the film "Bed Peace" on YouTube.
The documentary about bed-ins for peace Lennon and Ono held in 1969 in Amsterdam and Montreal had been posted for viewing through this past Sunday only. But a message Ono subsequently posted read, "I have had so many of you contact me and ask if we can keep BED PEACE playing for longer, so I have decided to extend the deadline for another week -- until midnight on 21st August -- so everyone can get a chance to see it."
The 70-minute film features songs by the Plastic Ono Band ("Give Peace a Chance" and "Instant Karma"), by Ono ("Remember Love" and "Who Has Seen the Wind") and by Lennon ("Because"). Ono and Lennon directed the film and Nic Knowland filmed it.
Other people featured in the doc include satirist Al Capp, comedian Tommy Smothers, protesters at Berkeley’s People’s Park, Rabbi Abraham L. Feinberg, quilt-maker Christine Kemp, psychologists Timothy Leary & Rosemary Leary, journalist Ritchie Yorke, DJ Murray The K and filmmaker Jonas Mekas.
Check out the film below -- or watch it on YouTube through Sunday Aug. 21 at midnight.
