What Made Your Year? Erin McKeown Gives Us Her Answer
Tuesday, December 08, 2009
Singer/songwriter Erin McKeown has had a busy 2009. She plays about 200 live shows a year and just released her eighth album, Hundreds of Lions. But it was going to someone else's concert that made a mark on her personally.
Last June, McKeown went to see Amy Ray perform to a packed house at the Bowery Ballroom.
"She has a new solo album out and put together a fabulous band," McKeown says. "At the end, she got up and asked if I would play guitar on one of my favorite songs of her's, and that was a real pleasure."
Tell us what made your year. Name the best food, song, movie, book, show or cultural experience you had this year. We're reading your choices on WNYC this month.
