The Lower Eastside Girls Club provides a place where girls and young women can grow, learn, have fun, and develop confidence in themselves and their ability to make a difference in the world.
Currently, they are reading Zora Neale Hurston’s “Their Eyes Were Watching God.” They passed by to learn more about the radio drama that celebrate the 75th Anniversary earlier this year.
In this photo, Brenda Williams-Butts, WNYC’s Sr. Director of Community Engagement & Audience Development, is introducing the girls to Indira Etwaroo, Ph.D., Executive Producer of The Jerome L. Greene Performance Space.
