WNYC® Radio Announces Appointments and Promotions Amy Eddings Named New Local Host For the Critically-Acclaimed Program NPR's All Things Considered®

Phil Redo Assumes New Title of Vice President of Station Operations and Strategy And George Preston Appointed to Music Director

(April 20, 2004, New York, NY) - WNYC, New York Public Radio® has announced that Amy Eddings has been named the station's local host for the national program, NPR's All Things Considered.
NPR's All Thing Considered airs on WNYC 93.9 FM and 820 AM and live via webstream at www.WNYC.org from 4-6:30 pm each weekday.

Ms. Eddings, an award-winning journalist, has been with WNYC since 1997 as a reporter, newscaster and substitute host. Her stellar work has included production of the award-winning series on work and families, "The Juggling Act," and extensive reporting on city government, recycling, sanitation, and the Catholic Church. Most recently, Ms. Eddings has won numerous accolades for her collaboration with WNYC reporter Andrea Bernstein on "Handshake Hotels," an investigative report citing the costs and processes involved in temporary placement for New York's homeless. Accolades for this series include: 2003 IRE (Investigative Reporters and Editors, Inc.) Award for Best Investigative Report-Radio; the Society for Professional Journalists 2003 Sigma Delta Chi Award for Best Investigative Report-Radio; and the Radio-TV News Directors Association Regional Edward R. Murrow Award for Best Investigative Report.

"Amy's skill at reporting and interviewing, along with her personality and on-air presence, will be a fantastic match for All Things Considered -- especially now that the national feed allows more time for locally produced newscasts, interviews, and stories," said John Keefe, Executive Producer, News and Information. "Her energy and creativity will help us expand ATC into a fresh, exciting program."

Ms. Eddings holds a B.A. from The Ohio State University, and an M.A. from New York University.
