WNYC welcomes program proposals but please note: due to the large number of proposals we receive, you should not expect to hear back from us unless it is an idea we are interested in pursuing in some capacity.
The Program Review Committee will review submissions every three months: January 1, April 1, July 1, and October 1. If your proposal is time sensitive, please make a special note on the cover sheet. Program proposals must be received at least three weeks before the next scheduled Program Review Committee meeting for inclusion in the agenda. A complete program proposal should include the following components:
1. An encapsulation of the program that provides a brief description of the show and addresses the following points: (one page)
2. An outline/description of a typical show. Also, please be sure to include:
3. Biographical information on the production principals and hosts (if known). For the producers, be sure the information includes each individual's radio production qualifications. (No more than one page per person.)
4. An estimated 12-month production budget.
5. A completed Program Proposal Cover Sheet (click here to view)
6. Samples of your work.
7. If possible, please include tapes or CDs (four copies) providing a sample demonstration of the proposed program. These need not be full-length programs.
Please mail these materials to:
