WNYC's Community Advisory Board (CAB) is a volunteer group of interested listeners who meet monthly to gather public comments and advise the station as to whether the programming and policies of the station meet the specialized educational and cultural needs of the community.
The CAB, as established by federal law, reviews “the programming goals established by WNYC, the service provided by WNYC, and the significant policy decisions rendered by WNYC," and assesses "whether the programming and other policies of the station are meeting the specialized educational and cultural needs of the communities served by the station." The CAB deliberates independently of station management and WNYC's Board of Trustees, determining its own agenda and electing its own leadership. The CAB is an advisory body only, and is not authorized to exercise any control over WNYC's daily management or operations. The board conveys its findings and recommendations based on public input to the Board of Trustees.
CAB meetings are open to the public; all are welcome and encouraged to attend.
You can attend CAB meetings and share your views.
