WNYC Radio has moved to a new home at 160-170 Varick Street in the Hudson Square neighborhood in Lower Manhattan. The station now occupies two-and-a-half floors of the 12-story building, in addition to a street-level performance space.

There’s a new splash of color in the gray corridor that is Varick Street between the Holland Tunnel and Houston Street.

In the windows of 160 Varick – at the corner of Charlton Street – hang bright, multi-colored signs announcing WNYC Radio’s move to the Hudson Square neighborhood.

The signs cover the windows of what will be The Jerome L. Greene Performance Space – WNYC’s new street-level broadcast and event space – and were designed by Poulin + Morris.

In the Greene Space -- the station's street-level broadcast and performance space -- New Yorkers will be able to observe live radio broadcasts, hear great musical performances, engage in civic conversations and political debates, attend author and artist talks, and meet the faces behind the mics and each other.

WNYC is scheduled to move to 160 Varick in early 2008.
